Take a moment, here, to consider the cost, of not helping inner-city children who suffer from lead poisoning. Without remedy, they lose opportunities now and for future generations to enjoy your same quality of life.
Kids with undiagnosed or other-diagnosed lead poisoning are tired, short-tempered, depressed and unable to think clearly. Over time, they may become anemic or develop Alzheimer's.
Kids with lead poisoning don't do well in school. In turn, they become unemployable. Kids who can't get jobs turn to drugs or violence. You or your loved ones may become victims.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, approximately 25 percent of children in the United States "still live in housing with deteriorated lead-based paint and are at risk of lead exposure with resulting cognitive impairment."
Children are more at risk than adults because their nervous systems are not fully developed.
Lead-based paint before being banned in 1978 is the primary cause; however other metal toxins can include mercury, aluminum and beryllium. In addition to toxic metals, other external toxins can be household chemicals, pollutants and food additives.
This website has been created to inform, educate and inspire you to address this problem.
